Black Ice Dessert Wine

Our most popular dessert wine! Made from the LaCrescent grape developed by the University of Minnesota, this unique delicate white wine is made in an ice wine style. The wine exhibits rich Muscat aromatics, a hint of orange zest, and a refreshing burst of sweetness. A perfect holiday dessert wine or decadent gift for just the right person!

Serving Suggestions: Serves well as a cordial or with a dessert couse pairing with dark, semi-sweet chocolate, lemon tart, and custard desserts.

Most recently, Black Ice was named "Best of Show" and gold medal winner of the 2010 International Cold Climate Wine Competition.
It was also a 2007 silver medal winner in the San Francisco "Wines Women Want" competition.

WINE MAKER'S NOTES

Morgan Creek Vineyards growers have reduced availability of the LaCrescent grape, which has made this wine more difficult to produce in volume. The harvest parameters for the ice wine style are the same as the varietal grape however the volume is reduced by approximately 40% during the production process. The 2011 harvest was not sufficient to produce a 2012 or 2013 commercial release. This will be the return of this wine since 2010. We are happy to have this small offering this season and hope you enjoy the aromas and flavors of Minnesota during your holiday meals and entertainment.
